Taj Mahal, New Delhi Hosts Sheroes Awards to Honour Women Changemakers
New Delhi: Taj Mahal, New Delhi hosted the Sheroes Awards 2025–2026 in partnership with Chhanv Foundation, celebrating women changemakers who are driving social impact across diverse sectors. The event, organised in the spirit of International Women’s Day, was centred on the theme “Give to Gain”, highlighting the importance of empowerment, inclusion and community support.
The awards ceremony recognised individuals and organisations whose work is creating meaningful change in fields such as journalism, cinema, healthcare, activism, digital advocacy and the arts. The initiative also reflects the hotel’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion under Indian Hotels Company Limited’s ESG+ framework Paathya.
Among those honoured were journalist and television host Richa Anirudh, filmmaker Anusha Rizvi, and burn and plastic surgery specialist Sujata Sarabhai from Safdarjung Hospital. Social activist Yogita Bhayana, founder of People Against Rape in India (PARI), and Katkatha, an initiative transforming brothels of Delhi’s GB Road into classrooms, were also recognised for their work in advancing social change.
Other awardees included motivational content creator Janhvi Singh, gender discourse advocate Mansi Singh, spoken word artist Swastika Rajput, and former civil servant and DRDO official Tanu Jain.
During the ceremony, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), was also felicitated with the Sheroes Award for the company’s efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion within the hospitality industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Anmol Ahluwalia, Area Director – Operations and General Manager at Taj Mahal, New Delhi, said the hotel believes hospitality carries a broader responsibility to create spaces that promote dignity, opportunity and inclusion. He added that the continued partnership with Chhanv Foundation reflects a shared commitment to empowering communities and supporting individuals who inspire positive change.
Ajeet Singh, Chief Operations Officer at Chhanv Foundation, thanked IHCL and the Taj Mahal, New Delhi team for their ongoing support. He highlighted that the collaboration has enabled acid attack survivors associated with the foundation to receive professional training and exposure in the hospitality sector. Many of them now work confidently at the foundation’s Sheroes Café, building dignified livelihoods and renewed confidence.
Through initiatives like the Sheroes Awards and its diversity philosophy “She Remains the Taj,” IHCL continues to promote inclusive growth and empower women across communities, reinforcing its legacy of responsible hospitality and social impact.
